Thunderstorms, deafening cricket songs, mosquito swarms, and back to school shopping – these apocalyptic happenings can easily be mistaken as signs that summer is ending. But I am here to tell you nay. While the summer season may be winding down, the true source of shortening days, your naked-at-school dreams, and your growing September-anticipating anxiety (it doesn’t matter how old you are) is that black horse motel has played its last show. FOREVER. …NO, wait, I’m sorry, I got caught up in the dramatic picture I was painting. Let’s start again. Last Friday, we played our last show BEFORE WE START RECORDING at Milkboy Ardmore. It was a great time and we would like to thank everyone who came out, Christopher Paul Stelling for joining us all the way from Brooklyn, and the entire Milkboy Ardmore crew for being some of the nicest people we have ever worked with. It has become one of our favorite places to play!
In addition to generally having a grand old time, we also premiered a new song! It’s still a work in progress and is yet untitled, but here’s a sneak peek if you missed the show:
Other videos from the show (and elseFest!) can be found under the videos tab. Photos from our ever-faithful photographer friend (alliteration), Thomas Barrett, will also be posted soon.
From now until October 5, we will be locking ourselves away to write new songs and to deconstruct old ones in preparation for recording our full-length album. We will also FINALLY be getting your Kickstarter rewards out to you. For those of you getting rewards, we will contact you soon through Kickstarter for addresses, t-shirt size, etc.
We are very excited to get to work on new songs and our first album. We hope you are even just a little excited to hear it.
Look for updates soon on Kickstarter rewards and recording! -Megan
